Father’s Day is a celebration of the man that has taught you just about everything that you know. From how to catch a fish to how to fix a toilet, dad is always there for you. It’s only right to set aside one day a year for it to be all about him. With so many ways to celebrate it’s hard to pack it all into one day, but if you are lacking on ideas we came up with a few for you!
Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love meat (or veggies!) off of a grill. Not only is this a cherished past time, but often a favorite of dads everywhere. Let him take over grilling duty if he enjoys it, or make him his favorite drink and take care of the food while he relaxes. Try throwing some asparagus, lightly covered in Himalayan pink sea salt and olive oil, onto the flames to pair up with burgers or steaks! The current forecast calls for sun and seventies across Laguna Beach and the rest of Orange County, so stock up on charcoal or propane now!
For the more athletic fathers out there, take him golfing! Pick a nearby course, like Ben Brown’s Course at The Ranch Laguna Beach, or opt for your dad’s favorite place. Surprise him with a round or let him plan the day, depending on your dad’s demeanor. Golf is an excellent bonding experience that can also be tied in as a Father’s Day gift. Pay for 18 holes and then hit the club house for some delicious Father’s Day grub, on you of course!
Another favorite of dads everywhere, fishing can be enjoyed by those young and old. If you’re up for a real adventure charter a deep-sea fishing boat for a memorable Father’s Day. Local boats and guides can be hired for a more reasonable price that you might think. Checkout Davey’s Locker in Newport Beach for an awesome selection of excursions and prices! And if fishing isn’t your forte you can always opt for a day of whale watching! After a day out on the water it’s only right to enjoy the fruits of your labor, or head to the nearest sea food restaurant at least. The Beachcomber at Crystal Cove in Newport Beach is putting on a Father’s Day brunch this year with drink and food specials until 4:30pm. Stop by for some of their famous surf n’ turf after a morning of fishing!
After all the Father’s Day festivities are over with, you will inevitably be tasked with the aftermath. Instead of stressing about cleanup, do yourself a favor and schedule SayClean for the day after! This will allow for a full day of dad, and no worrying about cleaning when you should be spending time with family. Book now, and then head out to the grocery store to grab all that BBQ grub for Sunday!
